SOMERSWORTH — A cohort of New Hampshire’s emerging young leaders and organizations making a positive impact in their communities was named by Stay Work Play New Hampshire, which recently announced the winners of the 2019 Rising Stars Awards.

Winning this year’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year is Somersworth’s Emmett Soldati, owner of Teatotaller, a cafe, bakery and performance venue in downtown.

“Emmett has created an environment of leadership in the local community wrapped up into a successful business model truly making him a bright beacon of young entrepreneurship in New Hampshire,” said Will Stewart, executive director of Stay Work Play.

Soldati, who recently announced the expansion of his business Teatotaller into Concord, said he was humbled by the award. “When we think of entrepreneurs, we tend not to think immediately of our cafe or restaurant owners. This recognition demonstrates that a value-driven business – one that doesn’t just generate profit but generates community – can thrive in New Hampshire. My hope is that this award will inspire entrepreneurs throughout New Hampshire to dig deep into their communities,” he said.

An initiative of Stay Work Play, in partnership with New Hampshire Public Radio, the Rising Stars Awards celebrate and recognize New Hampshire’s remarkable young people and the businesses that go the extra mile to recruit and retain them. The award recipients, selected by 31 judges from across the state (on individual award-specific panels), represent individuals and businesses making a contribution to their industries and the Granite State for seven award categories.
